A total of $3.5 million in loan funds will support expansion of the White Earth Tribal and Community College, which enrolls Native and non-native students in various degree programs. Funds allow it to consolidate operations and add 14,475 square feet to its present location on the White Earth Reservation.
Midwest Minnesota Community Development Corporation, White Earth Investment Initiative and Community Development Bank worked together with WETCC Foundation to provide a complex, comprehensive and affordable financing package that catalyzes outside as well as local investment in the community. The city of Mahnomen, Minn., contributed land in its industrial park.
This sustainably designed space will support the college’s goal of preparing successful students and future leaders in a single location. It features a new library, distance and adult basic education, study areas, student services, and faculty offices and classrooms.
